60 Jul 18 Comment The colors and texture of this plant are beautiful Bill. I really like that you've got the dark pink/red leaves against the green leaves in the background. Makes them really pop. I'm wishing I could see the top of this plant though, as I enjoy the roundness of the shape and think that would add to the composition. I also find that that one leaf on the left, that you've caught the side of, is pulling my eye in that direction a bit. Maybe if you softened the focus on that leaf (using the radial filter in Lightroom and reducing clarity maybe) it wouldn't stand out as much. But overall, I really like this. Jul 12th

I really like your composition and the leading line from the left taking me into the detail of the delicate fronds (not sure what to call them) of this wattle plant. You've isolated your subject matter well with the dark background and the full focus is on the plant. I personally find this photo very appealing. Jul 12th
60 Jul 18 Comment A fabulous composition Bill! I can just image you contorted below this beetle to get this point of view, and it's really great. I also enjoy the fact that you caught this bug actively eating and not just posing on a leaf. Tells a great story I think. I agree that the focus is just a tad soft on the bug, but I still really like what you've captured here. Jul 12th
60 Jul 18 Comment What a great find Carol. All of the beautiful colors and textures on one leaf! I really like that the focus caught the scalloped edge of the leaf as well. I agree with Nadia that the really dark spot by your watermark pulls the eye a bit, but overall a really nice capture! Jul 12th
