Thanks Lou. I purposely have the middle leaves off-center. For this photo I liked the way the layering of the leaves looked when I kept the middle ones off-center. |

How did you get 1.6" away from this dragonfly and not have it fly away! Nice job getting in that close! I'm curious as to why you chose to use f 3.4 instead of a smaller aperture to get more of the insect in focus? It appeared you were in pretty bright light with an ISO of 100 and shutter speed of 1/500. Because there is so much texture and pattern in the wings and on the body, I personally would have liked to see a little more of that. That said, I have never been able to get a good shot of a dragonfly, so kudos to you for this capture! |

I like the abstract feel of this photo Bill. The colors are really nice. Since you mentioned the main focus for you was the pistils and stamen, I wonder if an even tighter crop would have made more impact. That would also take out a bit of the bright green area on the right and the green stem (?) on the left. That might really draw your eye to where you wanted the focus to be. This shot makes me long for spring again! |

What a fun, creative photo! It grabbed my attention immediately. All of the colors and reflections on your cubes are really eye-catching. Love what you did here! |

Nice capture Bill! I haven't tried to get a butterfly landing or lifting off on purpose, feeling pretty sure I would fail, LOL. Really nice composition and great background which really makes the flower and butterfly stand out. The overall feeling for the picture is a little too "crisp" for me however. I too wonder if it's been a tad over sharpened. I like a bit more softness for this subject matter. Great job in being persistent so you could get this shot! |

I really like the color scheme of this shot. The blue and beige of the pot and the yellow/green of the succulent is very pretty. I think you did the right thing in darkening and blurring the background. I agree with Lou that there were certain parts of the plant that if more in focus may have made this an even better photo. Overall however, I really like the composition and colors. |
