I have to praise my camera for it's image stabilization as well. My Sony A7rII has 5-axis, in body stabilization which does a fantastic job of helping with hand held shots.
Here is a different crop of the original photograph. I was torn between which I liked the best, but I think this butterfly is just beautiful!

Thanks Bill. I was pretty close and was shocked that this butterfly was holding still long enough for me to get a few shots in before moving on! Half the battle in places like that is staying calm when you see a good shot so that you can work it without scaring the butterflies away, LOL. |

That must have been some tiny pumpkin to be a macro, LOL. Sweet image Bill. I hope the smoke clears up fast and stays far away from you! |

I am also curious about your choice of settings. They did make this photo grainy, which could be an artistic choice as well, but this fruit looks very interesting and may have stood out a bit better with more clarity. Good choice of subject matter. |

Great job Bill. The light reflecting off this wasp looks really nice and the details are very sharp. I love the "glint" in his eye as well. Great composition and execution on this. |

I love this color combination Carol. The small, twirly petals up front do suggest movement to me and the de-focused larger petals gives the photo a softness that I find appealing. Lovely photo! |

Thanks to everyone for their very nice comments! I've been out of town and this is the first chance I had to reply. Lou - my camera settings were iso 640, f7.1 and shutter speed 1/100. I always leave my camera on auto white balance and tend to get great results in natural light. |
