Thanks Jack, for your input and suggestion. However, at times, the rules of composition are meant to be broken and this is one such example!
I did try other forms of composition, but finally settled for this one!! |

Hello Jack - Welcome to the group! The overall scene of the vineyard is nicely portrayed. Having said that I tend to agree with the comments offered by Gary.
I tried working on your image in Photoshop CC, but couldn't do a great deal. Anyway, am attaching the same to see what you think! Somehow, I prefer Original 2 which seems to have more depth. |

Nathan - You have certainly created something extra out of an ordinary scene. Cropping, etc., has also helped, but am not sure about the large expanse of foliage surrounding the game. |

Melanie - A beautifully composed picture of the sand dunes and the tree. However, on opening the image, I felt it looked somewhat dark and lacked in contrast. I adjusted it in Levels first, then opened the image by going to Image > Adjustments > Shadows/Highlights. Moved the sliders under "Shadows" towards the left to adjust tone and shadow detail WITHOUT touching the Radius slider. Under the "Highlight" heading, I marginally moved the highlight slider to the right (once again without moving the Radius slider). Finally went to the "Adjustments" heading and ONLY moved the Midtone Contrast slider to the right ... within reason of course. See what you think of the end result!
Here's hoping the above doesn't sound too complicated, but its worth trying out!!

An absolute gem, Gary. I like everything about this image, and the pathway in the background forms a well-balanced composition. Full marks!! |

As always, many thanks for your helpful and valuable comments, Gary. I tried different ways of including dock/pagoda to form part of the composition, but this was probably the best! |
