Your capture of the woman is very beautiful, enhanced by the darkened part of the background (so that it blends better with the tree trunk) and the burning sword. The white line that Terry mentioned is also in the original. It would be best removed. |

And I prefer the monochrome image. In the color one, the colors seem harsh together. For the monochrome version, I would prefer sepia rather than b&w, as Terry showed in her image. I think it softens the scene. But I would lighten the dark areas just below the dome and on the platform leading to the fort. |

Amazing portrait of an older gentleman with a face that shows his years. The lighting on his face and arm is perfect. I would prefer to have the white area behind his right shoulder darkened to blend with the rest of the gray background. Also, I woujld prefer to have the entire gray part of the background darkened so there is less of a contrast with the dark burgundy and black areas on the right, which could be lightened a bit to bring out the details. |

Wonderful composition with the "shaft" of light crossing the leaves - well seen. Good job of eliminating the overexposed spots. There are a few more spots of white that you can use Photoshop's burn tool (with a low exposure) to get rid of. The image is well cropped, leaving enough properly-blurred background to frame the subject. The lighting brings out the beautiful color in the subjec |
