16 Feb 23 Comment Beautiful portrait of the woman carrying her sleeping grandson in a sling around her neck. The black-and-white conversion is perfect, as is the blurring of the background. The scene is so touching, eliciting much emotion from the viewer. The woman's face seems to show the stresses of a long, hard life, in stark contract with the sleeping baby who has no cares in the world at this point. I agree with Terry's suggestion to lighten the grandmother's face a bit. Feb 9th
16 Feb 23 Comment Great "action" photo with an unusual action. Perfect capture of the man working on the ice - with drilled ice spraying around him. I think Terry has an excellent suggestion - with the background color removed and the bottom cropped to near his waist. Feb 9th
16 Feb 23 Comment Beautiful flower (bird of paradise?). Good composition with the crop leaving the bottom stems, as in Terry's image. I would prefer a more natural background, as in a blue sky. Feb 9th
16 Feb 23 Comment The town on the hill in the background is beautiful and sharp, as is the farmland between the town and the cherry trees. Quite an achievement at f/2.8. The cherry blossoms are lovely, but I would prefer to crop off the right tree to give better balance to the foreground and background. Please forgive my edit to your actual photo. I did keep the same aspect ratio.

16 Feb 23 Comment Very good composition and post-processing: use of healing tool, cropping, adjusting color of water, horizontal flip. Face and beak are well sharpened, but back end of grebe does not look sharp to me. Could be my eyes, or could be that you took the image as it was landing, which was too much motion for 1/800 sec. Feb 9th
