Terry, one purpose of an image is to challenge people to look at it again and again, and analyze what might make it better. Look at all the comments and edits of those who have responded here. You have succeeded in providing a challenge. Your edited photo is excellent, for those who like its style, and otherwise it certainly is thought-provoking. |

Very interesting image - abstract, but not so abtract that the viewer can't appreciate the action. And great job with the post-processing. |

Good shot of the cubs. What a great nature preserve - to give you that opportunity. Definitely needs the highlights taken down more. The leaves in the upper left, and the parts of the tree in the sunlight are too bright. Lightroom or Photoshop would allow you to do this. |

Walter, you love this image and shared that excitement with us. I'd say that is the group standard. And our job is to suggest how to improve it. There are lots of good suggestions here, noting that you have a very sharp and well lit image to start with. I agree with cropping out the reflections in the water, some of the top, and maybe some of the birds, and leave an image of these wonderful birds flying together. |

Mohanan, the cliffs are beautiful, with all the layers of color that you have brought out in your excellent processing. The trees are quite dramatic, again with your skillful processing. And I agree with Bud that the photo would be best emphasizing one or the other, but not both. If you choose to emphasize the cliffs, then I suggest lightening the trees and bushes so they don't take attention away from the cliffs. If you choose to emphasize the trees, then I would lighten them just enough to show their texture, and crop the left side of the image to make the upright trunk stand at the â…“ line. |
