Thank you to everyone for your comments. They are all helpful. I see that I can use vertical or horizontal depending on what I wish to emphasize. |

Wonderful job of capturing and editing this image. I love the eye contact - and the beautiful feathers. I too feel that the white area to the right of the bird should be darkened. |

I had no idea a slug could be so beautiful. Great job of getting this photo. Sounds rather technically challenging.
I would crop differently, putting the slug closer to the upper left and not so centered, and bringing in more of the surroundings to the right of the slug - and letting the slug flow to the right.

Beautiful photo of the marmot in a tree. I especially like the handling of the background. I too would like to see the center branch darkened. I would also like to see the more cropping at the bottom of the photo, and a little cropped off the right and left, so that the marmot is definitely the star, not the texture in the tree. |

An exercise well done. I like Bunny's suggestion of adding this to another photo - and show off the bones in a natural environment. |

Interesting photo. A lot to look at. Since you were unable to get the feet, I would prefer to see the photo cropped to the bottom of his pants and then crop off the partial objects on either side. |

Great portrait. I too like the expression on his face. And I like Mohanan's darkened background. Another option is to just fill in the background (Photoshop for me) and let his face stand out, either as you cropped or cropped into a square. |
