Congratulations from me too. A well-deserved first place.
I would crop off more of the right and top, and put the masked lady on the right 1/3 line, which gives more force to the image - and you don't need the sky or the tops of the buildings. I especially like the reflections of the buildings in the water, but I'm wondering why the buildings look "foggy" in spite of the brightness of the woman in the red hat. Would you want to saturate their color more?
Or something else to consider: put the right side of the original image back on, with the beautiful array of buildings, and crop off most of the left pink building and most of the cover on the motor, so the masked woman is then on the left 1/3 line, and the lady with the red hat doesn't compete with her for attention |

A fine bird. I especially like the claws (or whatever you call its feet) on the bar. If you have access to the NIK Color Efex software (it's free from Google and quite amazing), you could use the Detail Extractor to bring out more detail in the whites. |

Beautiful pelican - well-cropped and the colors are beautifully enhanced. And all the other changes you described are just right. He/she looks very proud of himself/herself. |

I like the composition with the man, boat, and rocks forming a triangle. The rocks make an interesting foreground. I suggest using the Temperature adjustment (Lightroom) to change the purplish water to bluish. That will also make the sky bluer. And I'd love to see the sun have a yellow tint; you can select it in Photoshop, use the dropper to select your yellow, and use the paint bucket to pour the yellow in. |

A wonderful image of a bird in flight. High shutter speed gave you good sharpness. And you left room in front of the bird to give it "room" to fly forward. You even got a catch light in his/her eye.
I'd like to see the blue spot removed from the bottom of the right wing, and I'd like to see the blue of the sky a little deeper and more flattering for the bird. I would prefer less noise, and perhaps in the future you might find that a lower ISO would still give you a fast enough shutter speed to get a sharp bird. For this image, you can reduce the sky noise by selecting the bird, choosing the inverse to select the sky, and blur the sky. |
