Thank you so much Regine. Don't give up. Keep shooting the portraits and the fliers will come. And go for the slower fliers first. That's what its all about. I can jump in my car and spend hours finding the next photo. Happy shooting! |

Regine, I like your edit too, you did a good job. Of course it is possible, just takes time. What I did to your photos was a quick edit to show that it is possible.

Thank you Sylvia. I love the sleepy eyes too. For me they just scream early morning. I think you are right picking Kurtis' edit, the softer sky makes a huge difference. |

Yes Gabriele, spoiled for sure. And I am always guessing my work, very rarely is it even GREAT. Good thing there is always the delete button. Talk to Michelangelo or Leonardo, now that would be GREAT!!!
Thanks Gabriele. |

Another good crop Kurtis. I really like the grayish sky. And I don't even mind that you took some of his talons out of the shot. Thank you. |

I took a second look at my photo above and thought maybe I cropped it too tight. Then Art comes up with a great portrait crop and Kurtis comes up with a great crop too. Both of them are very well done and thank you. But I had to show you all one more version with more of the environment just like I did for Regine's owl photo. You are right Kurtis, it is a quandary.
Would you still chose to crop my image if I started with this one? |

Kurtis, I think you did a great job capturing this action and editing it into an even better photo. The center being sharp is perfect in my opinion and keeping the rescue crew there but softer makes me believe the cowboy will be safe. I would not change a thing in your edited version. Nicely done. |

Haunting, spooky, down right scary! I would be running OUT of your house if this was on your wall. But your art is your art, Art! The multiple exposure and processing is good, I think. LOL

What a great story Regine. There is nothing like a nice walk in the woods with a beautiful picture to remind you of the day. Good for you for having you camera in hand. I also played with your original by taking out a few branches and just softening it a bit and adding a little contrast.
Then, after posting my owl this month I though I should have kept more of the environment, so I did that with your photo too. I think owls in the woods are most of the time hidden and it would be better to show just where they like to hide. Here is my version of your nicely done capture. |

Fiery Sunset is putting it mildly. Spectacular, almost unbeliveable, just gorgeous. Art's crop just makes it better. Well done Gabriele. |

Thank you Adrian for taking a look at the showcase image.
And I think that's a good idea maybe adding some sky on top and to the left. Thanks. |

Jerry I think you ended up with a great composition. I love how you cropped it in tight showing off his beautiful red head feathers and his catch. Well done. |

Wonderful capture of the beautiful spoonbill taking a bath. Love all the motion and the drops of water all around her. She shook so much she lost a feather. |

Steve, I can almost hear their glorious honks while on their search for the best spot. Very nice peaceful capture and sounds like a beautiful spot to spend a day. |

Adrian I love this shot. Yes a very common bird but your composition and him strutting along with his catch, like he is makes it worthy of a second look. Great editing too. |

I remember growing up feeding Lorikeets in the Bronx Zoo and I never walked away without getting a few really, really hard bites on my fingers. Of course, I prefer seeing them in the wild or in photos. Your composition tells a great story Cindy. Perfect capture while they are picking away at the flowers. Their colors are very beautiful and scream tropical. I might crop the bottom a little bit more . . . |
