Hi Mike, I just stopped by to congratulate you on being chosen for this months Members Showcase. And I am happy to see another photo from the same area. Did that one coyote end up catching any of the thousands of sandhill cranes? Well done.

Hi Regine, yes I did see it that same way but then knowing that the bars are not part of the advertisment made me think it would be okay. The bars are there protecting what is inside the store while it is closed. So that might be another way someone may look at. It is really sad that is where our mind goes anyway you look at it. Can you look past your first reaction? Thank you for saying what you are feeling.

Kurtis, I looked again at your 1st edit and your 2nd edit a little closer. I see what you mean about the brightness in your 2nd edit. The only reason I liked your 1st edit better was I thought it was crisper and sharper. Looking again at both side by side I have to admit I was wrong. Both are equally as sharp. As I said wonderful job. |

Gabriele this photo is very interesting and yet almost scary to me. Are you and the Masai on a cliff overlooking the tree below? It seems funny to have the Masai so large like he is floating. Can you show his feet so that he is in fact standing there? One thing for sure Gabriele, your colors are just beautiful.

Kurtis I am very impressed at all the editing you did to make this photo work. I would have certainly deleted the original and not given it another thought. I do like the busy cloudy sky and I do like the darker bolder colors. Wonderful job Kurtis, stick with your first edit. |

Regina, I love the softness of your flower and the colors are terrific. But as you have read from Art and Gabriele it is not an ICM image. Art is the expert with ICM and has explained it well and don't let me discourage you at all, keep on trying. |

Art I think you actually took some of the romance out of my photo. Adding so much contrast makes the girls look look tough. I do agree that maybe the red luggage has to go. Thanks for taking the time to send me your version.

I was in Upper Peninsular Michigan the last time. But the only one in the lake was far away and no babies in sight. Another shot from Wisconsin, also nothing to show. I heard they are down here in Florida but have not been able to find them.

Judy sorry that I am not liking this photo. I keep thinking what is on the other side of this one flower? It looks like if you did shoot from the other side you would have two or maybe even three blooms. And I think it's also missing a stem to ground it somehow. |

Vincent I like your wild grass. I think the gradient background makes this photo. Well done getting down low and looking up. Yes, it needs to be a little sharper. I have learned that its okay to shoot with ISO 400, even ISO 800 and sometimes ISO 1200 with shutter speeds 1/1600, 1/2000. May I suggest that you just try them all and see what works with your camera. I think you will be pleasantly surprised. Nicely done Vincent.

Hi Charlie! I'm I right thinking this is a begonia leaf? Not sure but in any case it sure is beautiful. Your composition is wonderful pulling me into the deep, red center surrounded with all the veins and then the "hairs". WoW! In my opinion the out of focus leaf doesn't bother me and I am also glad you did not add a border which I think would have bothered me. The deep dark maroon background is great. Is there a lite behind the leaf? Well done Charlie. |

A lovely photo with the large clumps of daffodils making me think they must have been there a long time to grow so thick. But I guess the dilapidated home shows the age of the area also. The story is a sad one with so much death to one family but as Murphy mentions "basic living was difficult". I love your composition. The somewhat path almost brings me right to the front door while the sunlight brightens the flowers and the home. You picked a great day for a walk. Well done Ray. |

Hi Murphy, Sounds like a very interesting tree with the two different color blooms. This version of colors are so complimentary of each other it makes for a very beautiful and strong photo. I am not advanced enough to catch the background needing any correcting at all. But, seeing Charles' version it really does make a big difference. I will have to start looking much deeper into each of my photos. You called your summer photo "simply stunning" and I completely agree. Nicely done Murphy. |
