Gabriele, just to clarify... in marine language the stern of a boat is the rear, the front of a boat is the bow. |

Art I very much enjoy getting feedback about my photos and seeing the feedback of others also. I always take the comments and sometimes I like what is said or done and sometimes I don't. It is always a great way for me to learn. |

Gabriele, perfect image for October, Halloween month. I would prefer that there was more room in front of your Ghost boat but I love the colors and composition from top to bottom. The orange line adds another thought provoking area. Nicely done!

Regine I agree with your own word, WOW! I love your photo. Great thinking when creating this pano without a tripod. The composition, the colors are great. In Arts version I think it's a bit too bright for my liking. Me, I would frame your version. Well done.

Art I have to totally agree with Syliva here. Once again what you created is grand. It speaks volumes to me. Great job.

Sylvia I like your original photo better than your edited version. My reason is because of the sun rays shining down ever so lightly in between the severe cloud storms around. It seems like the two skies are completely different and the darker stormy clouds are my choice.
I bet that was a great trip. |

Thank you Sylvia. It was so long ago and as a new photographer with a brand new camera I clearly was struggling. But the photo is still good enough to remind me of the day at the Market. |

Thank you Gabriele for your comments. I remember this day to be rainy and overcast but their faces did need brightening. |

Thank you Art for your comments. Clearly this photo needed help with the dark faces. And what you did worked.

Thank you Art. Sounds like you did just what was needed to help this photo but now I don't see any photo from you in the comments.

Allen you certainly have a great imagination. LOL. This photo is mesmerizing to me also, but I never thought of out of space with a spinning black hole. I do love that my photo brought you someplace other than the back side of a begonia leaf.
Thank you for your version. |

Thank you Vincent! Yes, the first thing that came to my mind was the "Fibonacci spiral" better known as the golden ratio. I am pretty sure that it'a a begonia leaf. I see the highlighted spots I think you are talking about and will see if I am able to fix them.

Hi Charles! Thank you also for your comments. I just might have to go find this flower in a nursery to bring home and try it again. I have better lenses and cameras today and I am not as strict with my "in camera rule" as I was back then either. But time wise I think I will first try to get it right in the camera one more time.

Thank you Judy for your comments. Unfortunately focus stacking is way too time consuming for me. Just not enough time in my day to even try it. |

Thank you Murphy for your comments. I still had lots to learn when I took this photo in fact, I am still learning. I will certainly look into sharpness and diffraction. I just recently heard something about syncing the lenses and cameras, is that the same thing Murphy? |

Hi Judy! I am just curious about the second version you are showing us and if you don't mind I have a few questions.
Is the second shot cropped also? Are you cropping it because of the spent petals?
I do like your second version. I love the softness and almost foggy areas in the photo. Would you tell me how you are creating that? And I love the green bud but it looks a little fuzzy to me. Could this be two different flowers together in one vase? I still love what you presented here and the flower, what ever it is.

Hi Vincent! It's a big WOW from me for the colors in this shot. I also like the three stages of the flowers. Looking at Charles' version with the spent flower pointing right to the setting sun seemed better but then way too much is removed from the story of this photo. I like the story in your photo and my pick is your original. Well done!
IMO!!

Hi Charles!
I love orchids and the colors of this one are just beautiful together. I am not bothered by the background cause the bright colors of the flower keep my attention and the bright red and orange lead me inside the flower. I think this was nicely done! |

Hi Allen, I think that your end results was a very clever way to make this a very interesting photo. Looking at the original I don't think I would have even taken the shot. Just making this a B&W wasn't enough for you and you took it a step further that I will have to look up just what "inverting the tones" and "Develop Module profile in Lightroom" all means.
Thank you for your vision.

Hi Dan,
Another beautiful flower that is so strange. I love the orange/red petals with the center of maroon veins and the blue/green leaves from the African Violet together so much that I would have like to see the original flowers leaves removed. Is that even allowed? Then the purple center (I don't even know what it's called) is an extra bonus of color and yes, I see the bat face. I love your patience when shooting this and your end result. Well done. |

Murphy these flowers just make me laugh. They are so bizarre and I have never seen anything like them. The colors are really crazy but so lovely together. I love that they are almost tiny so you got a lot of punch from this small little bunch. It seems to me that you often go searching for a subject and I love that too. The composition is very nice with a background blurred just enough. Very nice capture.
And thank you for updating me on the NEW GUIDELINES. |
