I would agree Gabriele. It lost a lot of the BLING converted to B&W. I tried it and didn't like the results. Thanks for getting back to me.

Art when you refer to the "stoic statue" and "the woman in some sort of distress" you are referring to the one mannequin correct? |

Gabriele, do you mean that the image is more suitable to color or to B&W?
Not sure what you mean.

Hi Regine,
Great thinking on your feet to switch and come up with this photo. I think the subject and the effect is very intriguing. I am not sure if Gabriele has the correct images shown here.
Regine, the "original" shows me more of the two flowers merged as one which is incredible. I can see the front of the flower pedals within the back of the flower pedals. I like the softness of the colors and the depth of field is spot on, all in my opinion.
Very well done, especially hand held. |

Gabriele, you did wonderful with this attempt. The greens and purples with dashes of yellow is all very pleasing. Art adding the vignette brings my eye right to the center. I will be looking up just how this is done to understand more.
Very nicely done Gabriele.

Art this photo almost looks like you took two or three slow motion photos and merged them all together and then twisted them in more circles. I can't make out anything except his hand and even that took me awhile to figure out. I am pretty sure that's a good think.
Would you tell me if you used a slow shutter speed to create this? Well done.
Had to play with it a tiny bit and kept the slanted floor in as well.

Kurtis, I like your thinking. Anything to make me feel a little cooler is fine with me. I would love to see your original photo to make a comparison. I don't think they are both cardinals, are they? You did a good job capturing the red cardinal and keeping him red as can be, so with that in mind I would prefer to square it up just as Art did. Thanks for the cool shot!

Hi Sylvia,
Your original stands out more to me than your cropped version. I think the color seems brighter, and with more reds that seem to be playing back and forth across the path and the lady. If you still think it needs cropping I would only crop a little from the top and from one side. Nicely done while being out in the rain yourself.

Thank you for taking the time to write again Charlie. You have certainly mastered this technique beautifully and for right now, I am going to leave it up to you.
And from now on, I think I will spend more time trying to find "the little weedy flower-thing" that just might be at my feet too.

Hi Judy, I love the pinks and yellows of the flower. If it were mine to photograph I would have chosen a complimenting color instead of the same colors as the petals. I believe the flower would stand out much more. Also love the drops of water you added.

Thank you Murphy for your comments as well. WOW is all I can say. I never looked deep into my own work the way all of you did. Yup, I might have to frame this one for sure. |

Thank you Vincent for your comments. I did in fact shoot a vertical as well but I think you might agree that the horizontal won on this. |

Charlie after reading your reply to Allen it sounds like it is a very tedious job stacking and finishing an image. Do you do this often? I will also read your article before I add Focus Stacking to my to do list. |

Hello Charlie ~
A beautiful flower with the colors of lavender, yellow, pink and blue among the blue-green leaves, no wonder you took the time to photograph this beauty in such an exceptional way. So well done.

Hello Allen,
The wonderful colors of the iris, surely a favorite of mine and a somewhat different composition are both very pleasing. The added bonus of a spider and yet another added bonus of the dew drop, how lucky can you get. Yes, the spider might be a little sharper. Well done. |

Hi Dan! Very interesting indeed. Your title leads me to believe these seed pods might become poppies, it that right?
This photo made be take a second look trying to figure out what I am looking at and being in b&w added to the mystery. Yes, there could be one more pod in focus and the background might me a little distracting but it still caught my attention. Nice work.

Murphy what a pleasing photo of beautiful tiger lilies. Looks like you have a green thumb as well as a photographers touch. Well composed and I think the darker background is necessary. Would you tell me where the light is coming from to brighten the flowers so bright? Lovely.

Hello Vincent, thank you for becoming our administer for this new group. It should be fun.
Your Poppy is sure standing out. The brilliant red, the muted green background and the darker corners all make a loud statement yet all blend together into softness. The added texture on the petals is well done. Nice work. |
