I loved that you kept the softness of the bird. Just as if I was still right in front of him. Thanks Art. |

Thank you Regine for your wonderful comments. Would you believe ... no tripod, hand-held and I was in a boat. I think the ISO 400 helped with sharpness. The 1/500 sec seems like it would be too slow if the ISO was lower. Are we both shooting with Canon bodies? Thanks again. It's almost on my wall.

Thank you ALL for your comments. I didn't even see the sky along the top until you all mentioned it, so that was my mistake. I love how you all did a little bit of this and a little bit of that but found such different endings.

Kurtis, I think your original is a great photo and I am glad you played with it. In my opinion it's a little too much. All I did was make it square and it works nicely for me. I had to get rid of the too green grass. I also like what Sylvia did getting rid of part of the branch.

Sylvia, I don't know what you did (I will look that up) but I surely like it. The original was really nice but the softness you added makes it look like it's fluttering and certainly love that color. Beautiful!

Art this is great. I love the cropping, the colors, the softness, the subject. A very well done capture.
So, am I reading that correctly? "We, the season player ...". Does that mean you are one of the "season players"? When is the next time you will be playing there??? |

I think you did a great job at your 1st attempt using neutral density and Art's version for tweaking the color just adds to your wonderful composition. |

Gabriele, sorry to be so late with my comment. I give you so much credit for jumping up and getting to the top of a mountain to start shooting. But I agree with Art and Sylvia. The composition is good and love the layer after layer but I am partial to the lighter and softer version Art created.
I also agree its the artist who has to love his or her work no one else.
