38 Sep 20 Comment Regina, may I suggest you try your iso400 and f8 and see how fast you can get your shutter speed. I don't know why your iso is so high. I think the spider is a little soft and going to f8 would help. If you have a tripod handy all the better.
I hope to see your fern next month maybe.

38 Sep 20 Comment Sylvia, I give you an A+ for effort trying to entice the butterflies and hummingbirds. Well done. You have alot working against you here. The glass door is a big one and the middle of the day is another big one.
Is there anyway to raise the planter up so that you could get a better background? Or slowly open the glass door? Or sit outside and just wait till she returns. It took a long time before my daughters hummingbirds got use to her being much closer so don't give up.

38 Sep 20 Comment Yes, Alien for sure!
I like your creativity with this one and love the colors you picked. I would love to see the original if you have time. Art I played with it a bit by cropping the top third of the photo off which reduced lots of the magenta and then it becomes more of a pano. Just a suggestion.

For some reason I was not able to save my changes so I can't show you. But, I still like your Art anyway.

38 Sep 20 Comment Kurtis, I think what you attempted is good but I much prefer Arts version for color and no lighting on the top of the hill. Do you think if your fstop was maybe f22 the stars would have been crisper?

38 Sep 20 Comment Sunandan I love your creativity here. I do like Arts tighter crop, and toning down the edges. Fun!

38 Sep 20 Reply Thank you Regine. Canon is the best right?? (I shouldn't say that too loud!)
The 100mm has been by my side for a very long time. Yes, I have used it on and off the tripod. To create the black background the camera was on the tripod and I held my flash off to the side of the flower. With the right settings the background comes out black.
I have some very awesome photos with black backgrounds, at least in my opinion.
You should try it. Thanks again Regine.

38 Sep 20 Reply Thank you Kurtis. I have always had a hard time choosing between these two photos. I guess it would be depending on where I would hang it. Thank you for your suggestion.
I have always called them stamens but now I will have to look it up to see if I am right or not. LOL

38 Sep 20 Reply Gabriele, I'm sorry you don't like my macro shot. Do you like this one better?

38 Sep 20 Comment Gabriele, I love your Iris. Your creativity worked out great. The purple iris with the same color background is perfect and all the brush strokes add the perfect creative touch. Well done. I would hang this one for sure. Sep 4th
