Stephen, thank you for taking the time to show me others groups work. They are all very good. I am wondering why you thought I should see them. Are you pointing out something that could improve my image with? Or is it just to see what else is out there.
It is rather funny, I just finished an article all about Blowing Rocks Preserve that is being printed for my Club Magazine and Larry Treadwell did an incredible job with his story and photos about Blowing Rocks also.

Now that must have been a fun trip! I see you went up in a balloon also. Good for you! Not sure if I am ready to fly in a balloon.
I love the colors of your photo. I appears to be early morning with the nice warm sky. The composition is great and keeps my eye moving. Well done Art!

Beautiful Gerhard! You were certainly ready for him with your shutter speed at 1/3200 and your ISO3200. And the +.33 lightened up the wings nicely. Perfect angle too. It looks like he is busy hunting. Great job!

Very nice capture Gabriele. The blues and golds are fantastic together. Since I don't see your reflection I am curious about where you were standing.
I think reflections add a bit of mystery to a photo and makes you stop and take a second look at what you are seeing. I might also crop the green from the bottom. |

Thank you Gabriele, that's exactly how this photo makes me feel, powerful!!! Yes, I do agree that it needs a little adjustment. |

Thank you Gerhard! I have played with slower shutter speeds to capture the slow motion of water and clouds. But in this case, I think the power of the waves shows much better with a fast shutter speed. I have to go and find a nice lazy river to play with the slower shutter speeds again. Thanks. |

Thank you Art. I do like more details in the whites and the increased contrast. I copied your version to my computer and looking at it closely it doesn't look sharp anymore. Is that caused by the changes you made or is it from copying it again and again? |

Hi Larry!
Stephen Levitas mentioned that I should take a look and I am so happy i did. What an incredible shot. I live in Jupiter and I love trying to catch the waves at Blowing Rocks in all their glory, which I think is exactly what you did. It almost looks like fireworks going off around the rocks and adding to the fireworks is with the beautiful gold glow surrounding the base.
Your story makes me believe you saw just what you wanted to achieve in your head before even hitting the shutter. What an incredible story and stunning photograph. |
