It makes a good entry in a series of photos on this event. Nice moment captured and lovely colors. Probably I am wrong, but it looks like there is an interesting background that isn't in the frame.
I also liked the idea of Tom, original! |

I like the composition and the idea of freezing the bird. I find the out-of-focus branch distracting. Unfortunately, I can't help you more with the noise reduction as I am not good at that! |

That is a good idea to experiment. I believe that for this kind of effect you should either go for it decisively or drop it. Your image has some dreamy filling indeed, but my first reaction was that it is not sharp. The viewer would always question: was it on purpose? Though, if you moved your camera slightly more, you could have the some dreamy effect that you liked and would by-pass the question of sharpness. I have seen some good examples of that. It is not easy. You need to try a lot to get something nice. |

Good job ... and good luck indeed. I like the way that you have processed the photo. I believe that you can still crop some sky to focus better the subject |

I like the composition as it is but I feel that generally square format is rather strict. For this subject, think about cropping left and up keeping the original format. I would keep the whole hand of the baby in. Best wishes to you and your family. |
