Thank you, Judy, for your ideas.
Frankly, I missed that little spot left of the palm. Cropping that bit of light out would improve the image without making it "too skinny." |

Thank you, Lamar, for these ideas.
I appreciate the boiling cauldron thought, since I was going in that direction, but I could not quite articulate it.
I debated the palm tree issue, but left it in since I did not want to make the cauldron too thin. |

I like this image and its composition.
My personal preferences wish for
1. More sky and the beautiful red
2. Less water. (Perhaps a horizontal crop between the boat and the buoy).
Good job on the HDR blending. The image looks real...and I wish I would have been there to see it. |

When I saw your image, I was
1. Reminded of my trip up the Pacific Coast Highway.
2. Struck by a desire to go again and to stay longer (rather than just passing through and not enjoying the scenery).
Good job.

I like this image and the way in which you draw my eye to the buoy and the colors.
I understand why the out of focus aspect can be distracting. However, this aspect of the image encourages me to look at the buoy and colors, which, I believe, are the real subject.

Thank you, Pierre, for your work and your insights.
I am so glad to have another point of view, which allows me to consider a part of the image. Doing so encourages me to ask myself, "Which aspect is the most important one in this image?"
I really like the way in which you increased the gold in the sunset. |
