70 Apr 17 Reply Thank you, Lamar, for the encouragement and ideas.

You are correct. There is a leftward leaning tilt in the image, which follows the natural landform. Therefore, I did not "correct" it.

In addition, the challenge to find another place is valuable in helping me break out of the rut into which I may have been falling. On balance, though, I am specifically working on a project of capturing sunrises through a specific window in my house. I am trying to show the variety of colors and glory in the sunrise that I (we?) may not appreciate in a normal hectic lifestyle. I am asking myself (and others) to slow down and see the beauty. Further, creating these images from this same window reminds me of the Hitchcock movie, "Rear Window" as well as Julieanne Kost's book, Passenger Seat.

Nonetheless, it is important to look up from a variety of places and see what the world has to show.

70 Apr 17 Comment Good job.

Panning is a tricky technique and I like the result.

70 Apr 17 Comment What a wonderful image. I like the composition, the use of color, and the varying textures.

This image says "Hey, let's get going. We have a great day ahead of us."

Well done.

70 Apr 17 Comment What a great feast for the eyes!

Initially, I did not know what to make of the image; then I thought I ought to be scared. On my third look, I was happy to see imagination and creativity in full bloom.

Good work.

70 Apr 17 Comment I like your use of infrared to make the clouds and trees/branches similar.

I am torn about the compositions. I like the initial one because it gives a little "breathing room" on the right. While the revised image seems a little crowded, I believe both compositions are excellent. Personally, I just like a little room in which to move.

My in - camera HDR is set for jpeg and to fire 0 -1 and +1. Its software does the combining with the resulting jpeg output.

Thanks for the idea to bracket. I have been experimenting with HDR; I need to move onto experimenting with bracketing.

I thought about the upper portion of the sky and decided that, while there is not a good deal of interest, there was enough not to warrant cropping. I am glad to see your image, it is beneficial to see a different point of view.
