Donna, I commented on your image a couple of days ago! I forget and hit return instead of submit. I really like your flower. I like the detail and your point of view. I like how you filled the frame with your image and filled in the extra area with a similar colored texture. Well done! |

Rich, what a wonderful opportunity that must have been to take pictures while visiting the Rocky Mountain National Park. Donna had a good suggestion - a horizontal image would show more of the area. |

Hello Mark, nice shot of a dragonfly. I really like it your image. Great detail, color and blurred background. I noticed the front petal of the flower is not out of focus... nice! I have to remind myself when taking a flower picture that the front petal needs to be in focus! . |

Doug, beautiful selective focus! Not easy to do well. Those front petals are sharp and the rest fades into soft focus. Nicely done! I think a lot of us are fans of Kathleen! |

Al, I like the composition of this image. I like the yellow and green against the black background. Fran and Maria have made some good suggestions on how to improve your image. I would reduce the exposure and sharping just a bit. Just a suggestion. |

Hi Maria, This is such a beautiful flower! Great detail and lighting. White flowers are difficult to photograph, but you did a great job. I agree with Fran, I would extend the green to the entire background. |

Hello Fran, last month you motivated me to stay with the Velvet 56 for November. I stay at F5.6, but would like to start experimenting with F2.8. Yes, I have taken online courses from Kathleen. I am a big fan of Kathleen... I am still working on getting that soft light and selective focus! |

Melanie, this is a beautiful sunflower- great color and detail. Love the background texture! The only suggestion I have is to extend your green texture a little more on the upper left corner. Just a suggestion. |
