Thanks Ian. As with your work, I am trying to make images that are different or have a unique perspective. This one really captured my eye. I will be interested to see how it does in competition. |

Another interesting image Bill. You seem to always be on the cutting edge. Perhaps as you continue with this line, you could do a webinar for all of PSA on what you are learning and how it might be used. The suggestions must've been first grade as you have said, the lighting looks professional. Thanks for sharing. |

Ian, another interesting image. Something I would otherwise not have seen. This picture can't help but create some thoughts of what all dress look like in that day. It's quite complex and colorful.
I feel that the color of the outfit and the fitness of the dancer really add to the image. From my experience it seems that you've captured it with a good shutter speed and the right depth of field.
I could be off base here, but it seems to me if they invited you there to take these pictures, they should've given you a better vantage point. I think they've left you with unnecessary light/shadow images, as well as distracting artifacts off to the right. Perhaps you have other images that you've taken from a better vantage point. If you do, I would certainly like to see one. |

Guy, I remember correctly, you've had another picture from this river vantage point some months ago. To my eye, this is the better image. What captures my eye is the rule of three - the church, the white row houses, and the single structure on the left. I feel you've done a good job with the break point between trees and sky. The sky has enough but not overwhelming contrast to make it interesting as well. Looks like a very nice place to live. Thanks for sharing. |

Vella, for me the strengths of this image include the placement of the sun and the "sunburst" around it. I like the mountain lines in the background that lead my eye to the sun. And I believe you have done a good job in post removing some distractions and adding light to the water.
I feel that Isaac has pointed out already the weaknesses - the lack of detail in the right mid-ground the the chromatic aberration. It might have helped to have a reverse graduated ND filter on for this shot.
I hope to get to Patagonia some day. |

Erik, great human interest story. Isaac's comments are spot on. The dog and his focus on the lady's hand add to the interest. If you could at least avoid cutting off that portion of the head of the little girl I believe that would add to the picture immensely. Otherwise I think it is well exposed, it is sharp and the colors add to the image. |

Isaac, this is quite clever and a good catch. The picture tells a great story. I know that you don't enter exhibitions any longer, but it would be great to see how this would do. The exposure is sharp, the colors are realistic and there is no question that the main subject holds the viewer's eyes. Thanks for sharing. |

Tom, great shot. It is always special when you can capture the adult with the food for the chicks in its mouth. For me if you cropped you did an excellent job of removing distractions. The exposure and sharpness are spot on.
Tom Brott, Terry Palmer and I were at the alligator farm the 12th-14th. So many good shots - chicks, eggs, bird fights, feeding, etc. |
