To my eye Bill this is both a nice composition as well as an effective monochrome. My experience tells me that the white of the railing plays nicely with the absolute black of its shadow. I like the leading lines out of the "near" corners. I feel that the tress and sky in the background strengthen the composition and also help to give a scale of size to the bridgework itself. Well Done! |

Ian, to me the static symmetry of the image is well done. My eye tells me that the DoF, the exposure and sharpness are spot on.
I have shot windows such as this in the past on 2 or 3 occasions. For me the uniqueness captures my eye, perhaps combined with the larger setting. From my experience the "block" in progressing those images is that the "story" around them seems to be weak. Perhaps this window needs to be captured as part of a larger composition to help me understand the story. |

Erik, your patience yields for you some remarkable moments of wildlife. This is yet another in an outstanding collection. I continue to hope that you can share with me over time your keen judgement for what is about to happen, how long to wait and where to be when these unique moments arise. Thanks for sharing. |

Isaac, I am not surprised at your description of what happened. It very much looks like they are not happy with you. I have often said, after traveling the world for Kodak, that we do not live in the "real world." Even though we do not see things like this in our every day lives, these things happen in many places every day around the world. |

Guy, I love seeing these pictures of the English and Irish countrysides and coastal areas. I am getting an education. It must be that Ireland is one area geologically stable enough to live in a location like this and never fear hurricane, tsunami or earthquake. On the other hand, where do they have to go for daily groceries??? Thanks for sharing. |

Vella, I like the original comp[osition of this flower and I think that your intent on converting to white was a good thought. However, after trying to play with this myself in LR, I feel that you have removed too much of the information. I tried but was unable to create any contrast in this image. I took your original into Lightroom and added contrast and some sharpness to the pedal edges. I then put it into DxO River Efex and chose High Key 1. This is what I got. |
