I do but for limited features such as cloning and healing, stitching and sometimes layers. More often I use LR then DxO or On1. Thanks for sharing. I will have to try the tools you used. |

I feel that this image is the most creative image in all of DD this month. In my opinion the way you have blended the images show both creativity and excellent post-processing skills.
To help me further understand, in what SW were the Darken, Lighten, Pin Light, etc. done?
Thanks for giving me the new energy to go back to older images and see what can be done creatively with them! |

For me this image shows great creativity in subject capture and in post-processsing. I like the sharpness of the details in the house and the different texture that it has from the trees. I think an Aunt of mine once lived in that house! |

Rajani, I feel that you have done an excellent job of softening the water with the 1/4 second shutter speed. I believe that you captured this at a good time of day as the light adds to the image. To my eye you have done an excellent job on composition with the farthest point of the falls at the right 1/3 point.
For me, I prefer the color of the water in the original. Thanks for sharing this image with us. |

Lou, I feel you have done a good job with the exposure, depth of field and color balance. I believe you intended, and achieved, the falls as the fixation point of the image.
It seems to me that as Scott said, the viewer may want to see all of the falls including the pool at the bottom. To my eye there is a bit too much green at the left of the image that does not add anything to the picture. |

Yep, I really like the second one. I feel that all the tones now including the sky work in harmony! |

Scott, there is something very "pleasing" about this image. For me it brings back memories of skiing in the western states. I feel that you have done a great job placing those ski slopes in the background and adding to the character of the barn and fences. From my experience you have the exposure, DoF, and color balance "spot on." I like the contrast and tones of the barn.
I have nothing to add to this wonderful image but would ask two questions. Knowing this scene and what it took to post-process, do you think you could get a bit more contrast (and "moodiness")into the sky and would it help?
I'll be interested in your thoughts. Thanks for sharing. |

Trey, for me this picture brings back many memories of growing up in rural western PA. I feel that the information you provided helps to tell the story of a way of life gone by. From my experience you have done an excellent job in capture of creating a strong foreground for the main subject - the barn - and the trees and sky lead my eye to that point. I believe that the DoF, contrast and exposure are right on. In my opinion the post-processing work has done a great job of bringing out the stone and left face of the barn. In my VM I increased the contrast and decreased the brightness of the right side just a but to give it more definition. I may have gone just a bit too dark on the brightness. Good Job! |

Charles, to me the intended subject of this image is unclear - ie Where do you want my eye to land? For me there are two questions I ask myself when showing others an image. -- How do I want my image to look so that others will get the message I want to convey? Have I emphasized the elements that will create the response I want? Perhaps if you would clarify your own thoughts it would answer my first question.
From my experience, since water is colorless, it can only reflect the color of light hitting it. For me the yellow sky you have created post-process could not result in water that blue. That is unless per my two questions you were creating for an abstract image. Again, your thoughts there would help clarify me understanding. Thanks.
