I agree with Isaac, from my experience this is an exceptional action shot and the composition of riders foreground and back ground is very well done. I feel that the shallower depth of field, focusing the viewer's eye on the riders in the foreground, adds to the quality of the image. I would be very interested to know what f/stop and shutter speed you used for this image.
Well Done! |

I feel that you have done an excellent job with the composition and the lighting in the finished image. To my eye you have created a true focus point that holds my interest and a background that complements it, but does not distract from it. To my eye the sharpness and color balance in the finshed image are also well done. I believe that your post-processing work has definitely enhanced the image. Good Job! |

For me the sharpness and DOF of the image throughout - foreground to background - is well done. I like the way you have captured the morning light at the top of the "middle" mountain and in the reflection. I feel that the lines of the far and near shore serve well to lead the viewer's eye into the image.
From my experience, the gap between the shore lines at the right - their failure to meet in the image - is a distraction. I believe that it may cause the viewers eye to go out the right side of the image and not fix on the desired subject of the image.
To my eye the morning sky could be enhanced thru Dynamic Contrast. I think that localized saturation of the pink spots in the sky, the mountain top and the reflection may also add to the image. |

To my eye you have very well captured the depth of field, the sharpness of the image and the contrast across the scene. I feel that the final color scheme you have achieved is very pleasing to the viewer's eye. I think those colors also work well to draw and hold the viewer's eye at those trees.
It seems to me that the lighting direction in the trees is not consistent with the lighting in the clouds, but I cannot be totally sure. From my readings on imaging I believe that in the future you can achieve even greater detail in your images by exposing to the right and then darkening the image to reflect the early time of day. |

In my opinion the depth of field, sharpness and contrast are spot on. I feel that the placement and angle of the bridge draw the viewer's eye into the image and holds it there on the bridge.
To my eye the green in the river seems too saturated and a bit unrealistic. From my experience a good way to adjust a "dirty" river look is to use LR adjustment to paint in at about 25-30% opacity a blue layer that is in the lightest 1/3 of the blue spectrum. I think that the exposure of the image could be slightly reduced. |

For me this image brings back memories of my own trip to this beautiful park - there is so much majesty in those mountains! I feel that the image has great balance left to right and top to bottom. From my experience you have done a good job of opening up the shadows to show the interesting details of the near rock faces.
To my eye there are many pieces in the image that draw my eye - but no single fixation point for my eye to finally rest on. I believe that the sharpness of the final image is lacking, which may contribute the prior problem I am having fixing on one subject in the image. |

For me this image invokes a desire to have been there with you for this shot. In my opinion you have done an excellent job with exposure, depth of field and contrast.I believe that the strong mid-ground "lake" which transitions the foreground to the background nicely is completed by the small rocks in the foreground and the mountains and clouds in the background. To my eye the color of the lake draws and holds the viewer's eye and is the main fixation point - I see no distractions.
I feel that the only possible improvement might be to move the mountains just behind the lake a small bit away from the yellow/green portion of the color spectrum toward the magenta/blue portion.
Good job! |
