5 Aug 24 Reply Thanks for your comments Pete. I have cropped the image as you suggested and coloured the helmet as Sophia suggested. Further comments welcome. Aug 10th
5 Aug 24 Reply Thankyou for your comments Sophia. As Mark says judges often criticise writing in an image as we are often distracted by them so I took them out. Regarding your comment on putting some colour into the helmet, I would usually do this but in this case never thought. I agree it does look better, see below. Aug 10th
5 Aug 24 Comment It's good to see something different. As Sophia says the colours and fog make the image. Aug 10th
5 Aug 24 Comment What a lovely picture and one I would have liked to have taken. Jim says he is drawn to the faces of the two little girls as I am sure we all are. Why not make them more central to the image and have a huge crop. In the image below I have cropped extended the top and cloned to complete the ladies helmet. I used the elliptical marque tool to get the correct shape. I have brightened the image added a vignette and used motion blur on the background and radial blur on the wheels. What do you think? 5 Aug 24 Comment What a beautiful bird and you have caught it with a beautiful pose. Your focus and depth of field are both spot on. I agree with the previous comments saying that you have darkened it too much. In the image below I have selected areas to both increase and decrease brightness. However with a few minor tweaks I would stick with the original. Aug 6th
5 Aug 24 Comment In the UK we would call this a marmite shot, you either love it or hate it, no in-between. I love it and the idea. Your title is perfect. The positioning of the flower is in the best place. I think that Sophia's comments are valid. In summary I would say it is an excellent, wonderful image.

By the way are you related to the Addams Family?

5 Aug 24 Comment You have done an excellent job with your post processing and have brought out the colours and textures. We are drawn from the bottom to the light at the top. Sophia suggests that you clone out the white spots. I didn't notice them and they don't bother me but I would probably take her advice. Aug 6th
5 Aug 24 Comment Your resulting image was well worth the preparation. Whilst you set up the water bowl you didn't know when and where the bird was going to land so you still did well to capture it in focus. Your capture of the water droplets is perfect. I would agree with Sophia's comment about the background. For me you have cropped it a little too close at the top, bottom and LHS. Aug 6th
