A nice image. Whilst we don't have the original to compare, your end result is pleasing. |

I think what Jim has done is excellent. How will it do in a competition? I think it depends on the judge(s). To my mind it is a very striking image and should do well. Some judges, particularly the ones who nit pick, may say that Venus is too bright and pulls the eye away from the rest of the image. If it was mine I would reduce the brightness of Venus. It is not mine and you say "In my opinion Venus made this shot magical" therefore I would submit it as suggested by Jim and not reduce the brightness of Venus. |

I tend to agree with Mark in preferring the original. I would crop slightly and not do the transformation. I like the lights to go into the far distance. I would like to see some detail in the trees. In your cropped version there is too much blocked out black for my taste. |

She was taken at a Goth festival with about 20 photographers jostling to take her photo. It was difficult enough to get her picture without someone's head in the way. |

I like what you have done Pete but I would prefer the original background shade rather than pure white. You could also consider removing his badge. |

I agree with Richard about the subject and monochrome. When I see a thimble I expect to see a needle and thread although I don't use either, however I'm not sure if I would remove the scissors. Definitely worth having another look at it. |

What a beautiful place. The original was spoilt with all the people and I think you were right to take most of them out but leaving the two in the foreground and the one in the centre ground. In the version below I have used "Content Aware Move" to move the couple a bit more to the right and the person in the centre to the left. I also cropped a little from the bottom. This is well worth printing. |
