I can't really explain it here but there are lots of lessons on youtube. You could try this

I like the work you have done on the foreground bringing out the textures and colours of the rocks. The rainbow also adds to the image. For my taste the sky on the right hand side is over-processed and draws my eye away from the wonderful rocks. |

I am also one does not favour abstract images but my wife thinks this is really good. My brain is not wired this way and I do not have your creativity. I agree with Nick about the blue colour. If you look at page 22 in current PSA journal there is an image "Braided River", which to me is not as good yours. |

I agree with the others on your imagination. Just one point. The two crocs in the upper right seem to be the same but with one enlarged. If this is the case I would use "Puppet Warp" on one of them to change its shape. I await next month's image. |

I don't think this image would do well in a creative competition but for me it should. I like it and would never have thought of taking something like this.
We are used to reading from left to right and we scan pictures in a similar direction. Therefore, looking at this image our eyes move towards the interesting parts. If you flip it our eyes move away from the interesting part and into the black.
You might consider changing the blue on the egg cup to match the red of the finger nails.

This image asks a lot of questions. What are the people saying? Are they lovers or is one of them upset? What is the cat doing there? As you have put in a different sky you are obviously happy to make significant changes to the image. Therefore I would remove the large mound on the right hand side. In the image below I selected a small area of the mound, for example the area that was blocking the sky and used "Content Aware Fill" I repeated this and also cloned at times. In addition I copied the lake on the left hand side, flipped it and moved it to the right. I always use a new layer for each process and in total I had 16 layers. Finally I used a curves adjustment, pressed Auto and reduced the opacity to 50%. If you use Topaz Impressions you might consider using one of their filters to give an artistic effect, its down to taste. |
