Thanks for your comments Larry. Although I hadn't responded to Cindy I had taken note and produced the attached. |

I prefer the colour version because the different colours of the various fruit make them stand out. If you want to go with the mono I would clone out the burnt out areas on the grapes, add a little more contrast and some texture to the bananas. |

Yes I agree with the simplicity of the image. I think it could do well in competitions. I wouldn't change anything. |

I particularly like your colour version. I suspect the main reason it hasn't been accepted in PJ is that the girl is looking out of the picture and away from the lady. Also the light patches on the ground are distracting. In the mono version I would lighten the girls face and burn the highlights on the ground and add a little more contrast. |

I like both the colour and mono versions but overall I prefer the colour. I do like the textures in the sand and the lady is in the perfect position. Are these Cirrus clouds? They make the picture.
I think you have 2 pictures here the portrait format you have presented and a landscape format shown below. I wouldn't say the landscape is better than the portrait. It's just a different version. |

You have found an interesting building which is well suited to mono. However for my taste I think it is rather tight in the frame. You could rescue it in photoshop by using "content aware crop". I have also sharpened it slightly. |
