Thanks Cindy. We have a "People" competition in one of the clubs of which I am a member. At the last competition the judge said exactly the same and none of the winning images had the subject looking at the camera. What is she looking at? See below. I didn't like the distractions in the foreground so did a massive crop. I now have a 60MP camera so I have the pixels to do this. |

I think your added sky improves the image by a wide margin. What I find odd is that we are told to turn right but the bird is looking left and the truck is going left. It makes me feel uneasy. |

I like the curve in the river bank leading to the bridge. The bird on the bridge adds a focal point. The sky adds interest. To improve you might consider adding more contrast and, possibly, cropping the left. |

This is a stunning shot with the lead bike being very sharp and the riders face being visible. I agree with you about 3 bikes and the focus range. The picture works well in colour and mono but I might just favour the colour. In the mono you could consider burning the light patch to the right of the lead rider. The problem with taking an image like this is that in future years it is difficult to improve on it. |

This is the type of image that I like and it I think it could do well in competitions. I think you have chosen to take it from a good angle. I keep scanning the picture for a Lurch type figure. In my adjustments I have cropped from the left increased the brightness slightly and burnt the highlights in the downstairs window. |
