I very much like the mono but I think the colour is even better. I think both could do well in competitions. On the colour version you seem to have cropped the bottom, I would leave this in. I would also clone out the two bright lights by the side of the pillars. |

You have a good range of contrast which enhances the image. I would agree with Cindy's suggestions of both the crop and the flipping. |

A very interesting church interior. The lead in line of the aisle is excellent and leads the eye to the beautiful alter. I don't know if you have cropped the top, if so it is to my mind in spot on. I wouldn't change anything, however I would be interested in seeing the colour version. |

You ask for "Ideas on how others handle this condition with camera settings then editing appreciated."
I don't think I could offer any advice on this as I think your technique and processing is better than I could do. I think this is one of your best ice skating shots. The skater is well positioned in the frame and his arm and hand are both in the best place. I wouldn't change anything. |

To answer your questions:
1. There is a compelling story with the lead in line running from the bottom left to the people then splitting into two (in the valley and over the hill) with people to add interest.
2.The way you have processed it is appropriate including the crop and conversion to mono.
I have no suggestions for improvement. |

I prefer the mono to the colour version. My only suggestion is that you add a little more contrast to bring out the sky. |

An interesting picture with good lead in lines to the train and then to the tower. I like the tall thin shape of the image. In my opinion I think the rails at the bottom of the image go too far, they take up half of the picture. I would crop the but to maintain the long thin shape I would crop the RHS slightly. I would also lighten the image slightly and add a touch of sharpening. |
