Overall I prefer the colour image as I like the blues and yellows in the sky and I like the two parallel lines of colour at the bottom right. In both versions, however I think there is too much black and I think the pictures could be improved with some detail in the trees and foreground. I don’t know if this is now possible. Did your camera save all of the individual bracketed shots or did it merge them and not save the separate files? If you have the individual files and you agree with my comments you may be able to do something in Photoshop. |

As always your technical work is of a very high standard. I like the lobster shack with all the various textures from the roof down to the rocks at the bottom of the image. However, I have returned to the picture a few times before commenting but still feel that the image doesn't hang together well. To me the right hand side competes and wins my attention but I think it is the least interesting part of the picture. I will be interested to read the other reviews. |

Another good action shot with the cycle and people all pin sharp. Whilst we don't have a colour version to compare with I think the mono is appropriate. To improve the image I would add a little more space to the front of the image, crop a little from the other side and add a vignette. I may also sharpened the bike and riders. |

I think the mono and grungy look are appropriate for this image. The mono tone rather than normal grey also works well. To improve the image I would darken the bright area below the 4100. In my interpretation I couldn't get the letters and numbers to be as bright as yours I am not sure whether I would prefer them to be brighter. |

You could crop even more but is this too much? |

A competition judge told me that very often pictures of people are better in mono rather than colour as the viewer concentrates on their features and expressions and that colours can be a distraction. Your image is a good example of this and in my opinion is far better than the colour version. It is improved with the crop. You could consider adding even more contrast, sharpening the image and cropping even further. |
