I too love the gesture of the wing, like a ballet dancer. I think you could put a neutral density gradient on the tree to tone down the orange and brightness which pull focus from the bird. The bark texture is indeed a strong draw for my eye. I am not sure about the nice blur behind the bird, whether it should be toned down or not.
The bird is in shadow, but the tree and background are not, kind of the opposite of what is usually looked for. I like the backlighting coming through the white feathers on the wing.Perhaps taking the saturation down on the yellow background would be good. You could play with it anyway. Nice capture. |

Much livlier image now. I agree that a bit more light on one side of the lighthouse would be a good idea as there is so much lightness in the sky now. I would do the left planes of the building, and probably hit the light colored bushes in front of those walls. Very nice redo. I submitted a photo but somehow it didn't get put up I guess. |

I like having the duck in the image. And I like the centered body of land. Nice colors, nice job. You might crop a bit more on the left side, or not. |

I love the blue with the yellow counterpoint. This makes for a nice panorama shot. |
