John, that windy road is EVERYTHING!! I love it. What a great viewpoint you used.
I wandered if you could have gotten lower on the flowers to reduce the distance between them and the wonderful curvy road.
I guess I'm thinking that everything is almost equally 1/3 and I'd like something to be less equal. I think. But, maybe not. I'd sure love to see this in person, what a shot! |

Lucky you to catch such a rare shot. Being out there probably wasn't just luck though, but preparedness.
I like the idea of a neutral density gradient too. I wonder if it would bring some detail into those clouds. It definitely would keep my eyes from leaving the mesas and their color and details.
Nice capture. |

I shot the comet over the Tacoma Narrows bridge, the new version of Galloping Girdie.
But I wish I'd known about stacking images. This looks seamless with the longer foreground shot and the stacked sky shots. I can't think how you could make it even better.
I just got a Nikon Z6, and already have the Z7.
You always show us some interesting stuff here. |

Theresa, cool! I never knew about stacking for a comet. I'll have to wait until next year. I shot it over the Tacoma narrows bridge.
You did a super job on this, and thanks for the info. My only editing idea would be to take a bit off the bottom as its unnecessary.

Gee, thanks John for the info you shared on the comet. I shot it too but never knew about what makes it lit up or to stack my images. |

Welcome Paul, and thanks. I've had some painful back issues and am just starting to be able to spend much time at the computer again.
Cell phones are amazing these days!! When I got my big expensive new Nikon D850 the book I bought said, "don't expect this camera to look as good as your cell phone shots" or something like that. What???
I love the detail you captured. i would like to see some interest that isn't just on the top and bottom edges. I wondered if a verticle would have put the lovely wave less on the edge of the photo. |
