Thanks Theresa, I really love the "pop" and on a bright clear day with a mirrorless camera and a polarizer, it was intensly blue. I did add sharpening but straight out of camera in jpeg was gorgeous too. |

I can see how that changes the focus here, Marla. |

Interesting concept, Mike. I was behind a guard rail when I shot this. I don't know if the gull would have stayed still if I approached but that's an idea I'll consider another outing. |

It's a pretty wow shot John. I have never seen this either. I love how the structure is so sharp and crisply in focus with the moving water. It must have been exciting to be there and see this. I do like the idea of lightening up in the water a bit. |

We seem to have lots of time these days but amazingly little drive to do much, at least around my house and facebook friends. Good for you to be productive.
I agree with Gordon on the graduated filter on the lower grass to bring the eye to the focal point. Along the same lines, I would try it coming down from the top too, to see if it looks good. I thought it was rain and a dark looming cloud could be dramatic and draw our eyes to the cowboy and herd. And, if not, no problem, just delete it!! |

My jaw actually dropped when I loaded this one, Marla. This looks like a mirrorless camera shot. I know my Z7 makes such saturated colors. You didn't tell us your settings or lens.
stunning, stunning shot. Beautiful photo.

The water is dynamic though I wonder if the orange riverbank upstages it. Did you have a larger image, Gordon? It feels very symmetrical for such an arty image. I think I might like some cropped down on the top to give an orange line without the black spots which seem to draw my eyes upwards. And I was wondering about adding some of the water to make the center bottom look so "centered." I can't see cropping anything off either side.
This should be a really interesting photo exhibit you are making, and should get lots of attention with it. Cool.

The sky is stunning! I agree that if you brightened up the right side it might read better, adding some symmetry. The water itself isn't so interesting so I've been pondering that. The boat and wake add some interest but its zooming out of the photo. You really just need to plop a sailboat down in front of everything!!!!! Just kidding.
Can you add even more drama and contrast to the sky and still lighten it up on the right side? |

I am amazed how sharp the large gulls are. It's tough on the cropping as you wind up with a few KBs of image here. I think it would be nice to clone in a few more birds, you can flip them and transform them to fit right. I think it would be plausible to have a few more around a fishing boat. I like the original color, delicate but nice. I like having more space in front of the boat than behind. I'm sure next time you'll have a different lens. My favorite one is 28-300mm so I always have some choice, unless I've taken it off and left it behind!!!! |
