Stunning color on this shot, great job getting the perfect light and all that reflection and how great the boater cooperated with you too.
I want to see those bright spot of bushes on the far right cropped out. I see that Mike did too. Much better as they draw too much attention to the edge of the scene.
I don't need more detail on the left, I would rather you darken that light spot that looks like maybe snow as it draws my eye away from the gorgeous golds and reflections.
This is beautiful, I love it! job well done. |

I really like your composition, Mike. I remember that you shoot this often. I like this version the best of all. I don't mind the bright light above the door. I love the details in the grass with the soft chapel. I felt the vignetting on the top was drawing my eye too much. I would soften that. The corners on the bottom are not as dark as the top so my eye goes up to the strong contrast there. I suppose you could just add more dark on the bottom corners to balance it. This would certainly be a wonderful Christmas card. Do you use this chapel for that? |

I like that we get to see both images. Good job on stretching, I notice how mountains get flattened. I did that with one or two of Mt Rainier. I like the black and white as those red bridge railings really detract from the landscape, for my eye. You could just change them to black or dark gray in the color photo. Without the red the image really sings.
In the black and white I think you need to lighten the trees and bushes as that snow dusting is really lovely. At first I thought you shot the color image through your window as the fog looked like my shots when my tinted glass gets into the shot. |

Well, my mouth dropped open when I saw this image. It is really lovely. Bandon beach is on my wish list.
I agree that the houses and motels need to go, they take away the pristine look. How great that no one ruined that beautiful texture of the sand.
I wouldn't mind a bit more color either.
But, like I said, my mouth dropped open and I said "Aaaahh" when I opened this up |

I agree that the sky is stunning, no wonder you pulled over. Your exposure is right on and that's not always easy with such a bright sky and strong "unnatural colors" as opposed to blue or gray!
I think a silhouette would look cool breaking into the sky, a dark pretty tree or cactus. I think this definitely needs something to be dropped in that wasn't there to begin with. Good luck finding that "something" and leaning how to DO IT! :-)
