71 Apr 18 Reply Marla, I love what you did. But, adjustment brush in RAW? I don't know about that even though I process everything FIRST in Raw. I will have to see it because I all the time want to do local adjustments only, not on the entire image.
So thanks for telling me about that.

71 Apr 18 Reply Thanks John, I could of course get rid of the power lines but I kinda like them. It adds a calligraphy that I like. And an authenticity. I think I did clean some lines out of here and left these.
I can try a version without and compare.

71 Apr 18 Reply Cool! Let's go night shooting in Tacoma. And also shoot up by your place.
It's hard to find someone who is willing to out at night to shoot.

71 Apr 18 Comment John, this is a lovely image. I like how the waves of sand lead my eye towards your focal point. I also did not see the storm clouds as they are wispy and white.
I wonder if adding contrast would add more impact to this image.
I would probably clone out the white clouds at the top right side that draw my eye out of the photo.

71 Apr 18 Comment So crisp and sharp! Lovely and amazing details on these mallards. The colors are rich. So that's what it takes? 1/ 2000 of a second to get this sharp image?
I agree with everyone that I can't see any improvement you could do.
After looking at yours I went to my image and mine looks so muddy compared to everyone else's photos this month.
Nice blurry background with super sharp details, lovely

71 Apr 18 Reply Thanks, Mike. I agree the moon is awfully bright, I tried to blend it in but couldn't as it was so bright. What made me add it was that it was actually there above the farm while I was shooting.
That's why we have critique groups, folks who aren't wedded to "what was their," as an inspiration. Like in writing a story or poem, just because it happened that way doesn't make it a good story!

71 Apr 18 Comment My first thought was WOW, I wouldn't change a thing in this! Such rich colors, that great pop of red! Those bright greens. A perfect light for shooting this.
Then Mike said crop! Don't think you need to. BUT if you did crop, then I'd make it a vertical image, cropping on the left and right, and having the water rush down towards the figure. I can see there would be power in that.
Our job is to suggest things you might have or have not already tried out or thought about.
But, it's stunning and perfect just as it is. How nice your guy held so still for half a second for you to get his accent. And he never even knew probably

71 Apr 18 Comment Well Virginia, you are selling us this photo ranch experience! I know I'm envious of your photos here. The lavender sky behind the orange cliffs, those feathery trees, the horse, the cattle, the snow, all just so lovely.
It will make a lovely wall piece. If you had to lose something to fit into a standard size you COULD lose a bit of sky, not that you need to.
Wonderful

71 Apr 18 Comment It must have been cold out there shooting long exposures! We live in the same area. Well, I'm in Tacoma.
And exciting too, hoping for a cool image. Is this from your house? Or with a group out shooting at night?
I'd go out with you some night!
This one is hard for me to critique as its so different from what I'd shoot. I looked at different crops but wondered what YOU wanted to say here, as the artist of this image. Everyone sees the calm serenity in this because that's what it is all about to us. Long straight lines, planes, of color. A bit of sparkling accent nearly centered. All say relax, like a doctor's office or massage studio photo.

71 Apr 18 Comment Beautiful, like an Arizona Highway magazine! I love the sharpness throughout and wanted to see what F stop you used, F-14 to get that as you didn't say HDR.
The colors are rich. If I would change anything it would be to crop down a bit on the sky as the rocks and mountains want my major attention. With a bit less sky they look more dominant to me. And make it less than a 50/50 split. You are not 50/50, but it could be closer to 1/3. Or not. See what you think?
