Thanks Virginia, I think it reminded me of paintings also, like Manet's for one. |

What a great exercise, Mike, to follow in Ansel Adam's footsteps and get this shot. And what dedication. This photo gives me a lot to look at, the bright green trees, the blue sky with wispy clouds and that great hunk of rock.
Nicely shot, nicely edited, and impressive that you researched this and made it happen. Bravo. |

I am amazed at the details of HDR with leaves that move in the wind. The details are also amazing on the shadowed hill, under the ferns. A beautiful path that leads me into the picture.
I wondered about a bit of darkening on the left side to keep my eye from going down the trail and then out of the picture into that bright area that goes all the way to the edge. A bit of vignette, not a lot, I think would be nice there. |

Reminds me of my visit in June, I remember you said you were headed there. I think it is realistic, softening just gives it a dreamy look. i see you already entered it in altered reality so I hope that works for you. I imagine altered reality to be more surrealistic than this beautiful shot.
But i don't know your camera club's aesthetic.
A beautiful shot, well edited, and lovely layers of colors. Rich colors which can be hard to get in the Palouse. |

I love the colors, the patterns and the shot and agree that a field trip to visit would be fabulous.
I think it works with the boat in the middle, but I think I'd prefer it cropped on the right like Mike said. That was my first impulse about change, after gasping a bit about the wonderful shot! |

Sorry to log in so late to this discussion since I love love love the blue and purple with the warm tones of sunrise. I knew it was late afternoon or early because of the color. i live in the Pacific Northwest and so the natural toned down version looks like an every day type of photo rather than a stunning shot at a time I'd still be in bed, missing this gorgeous view!!! |
