71 May 17 Comment Mike, you surprised me with your low tech equipment as your comments are so professional, and your image is stunning. Interesting composition with two long lines, the tree going up and the treeline going across the photo.
I love landscapes, and love the blue and gold of this. Very serene, yet warm too. I think it amazing that you got the landscape so well with the eagle still in focus. Must have been tripod as everything in the picture is sharp in this low light. Thank you Mr. Eagle for posing so quietly!!
I agree with Virginia that this has a painterly feel, which works wonderfully for me, a painter.

71 May 17 Comment Beautiful image, I have never been here, but hope to one day.
I agree a tighter crop, just a bit might bring attention to the lit up mountain.
I wonder if a neutral density filter in post processing would be good on the top part. I haven't tried one on an image like this as I have never SHOT an image here. I would try it, I use the nik filters for this.
We will see your images from this year from the same park, looking forward to it.

71 May 17 Comment I think the wide angle rocks to clouds view absolutely stunning!
I want a super wide angle lens now!!
I would like to see some shots here that are less symmetrical, did you take any? Exposure looks right on, colors rich and gorgeous. Super job, were you tripoded on this? Or, just laying on the ground for this?

71 May 17 Comment A beautiful photo, and such rich luscious colors! I am intrigued by Marla's comment about the starburst effect, and will have to try that myself sometime. In this light it would have to be tripoded I think.
This might be stiking cropped in on both sides a touch, making the purple "flower" more prominent.

71 May 17 Comment A beautiful day and image. I agree with previous comments, about the softness. My thoughts were that HDR of three shots might be softer than single shot due to the movement of the leaves, different shots, leaves in different locations. I tried that in Hawaii a few years ago, it doesn't work with deciduous leaves so much.
I think black and white might be lovely too, though I love the purple flowers. I love shots of roads like this. beautiful work.
