71 Aug 18 Reply Thanks, Nancie! I was lucky to have that dreamy pink cloud! Aug 26th
71 Aug 18 Reply Thanks, Marla. I will try getting lower the next time I have the opportunity for this kind of shot.

71 Aug 18 Comment Thanks for your comments, John! I know the wood poles may not help the image, but for me they are just part of the "character" of this country garden.

71 Aug 18 Comment I think you did a good job of showing the size of this lava tube by doing a vertical shot to show the landscape above. A wider lens would have been nice, but you did the best with what you had with you. Your processing brought out a lot of nice detail on the lava tube. Aug 11th
71 Aug 18 Comment This is beautiful! I like the inclusion of the tree. It makes me (the viewer) feel like I am standing there and frames the mountains nicely. I agree with Mikes suggestions about trying to reduce highlights on the mountain tops and also trying a dehazing filter to bring out more details. Aug 11th
71 Aug 18 Comment Serendipity! You had a good eye and the skill to see the possibility of this stunning image! I like Mike's crop to remove the partial butte to the left and draw more attention to the sun-star. Arches is a magical place and you caught a little bit of magic here! Aug 11th
71 Aug 18 Comment This is gorgeous and very nicely composed. The inclusion of the ski lift really helps give a sense of how massive the mountains are. I wouldn't have known you used HDR for this photo to get all the tonal values. So many times HDR is overdone, but you did it right! Aug 11th
71 Aug 18 Comment I feel like the dramatic clouds are the main story here. My eyes go first to the clouds, then to the butte, wander around the rest of the scene, but back to the clouds. I like Mike's version also, but I think it changes the story a bit. Great image! I love Arches and hope to go back some day.

71 Aug 18 Comment Wow! This is a beautiful portrait! I like your shallow DOF that resulted in a nicely blurred background. You are lucky to live in an area where you see these colorful birds. Aug 3rd
71 Aug 18 Comment Thanks, Mike! I was lucky to have such a pretty sky.
