The S-curve of the road is very nice as it takes the eye right to the falling rain. I too like the deep blue mountains in the distance and I don't see the trees as a distraction but rather another place for the eye to land for a moment. |

There must be a story here, but I can't guess what it is. That makes for an intriguing photo.

I really like these types of compositions with a very low, close foreground POV. The misty, soft focus background works well with the sharp, frosty grass. I'm sure you must have gotten lots of compliments on your Christmas card.

This is a lovely, peaceful scene. I agree with John about the right tree. At first glance it makes me think it is a power pole since we see only the trunk and not it's greenery. I like Marla's crop and also think a low point of view with the rocks in the foreground would make a nice composition for this scene. |

Nice soft colors make a pretty image. My only comment is that I wish the pier stood out a little more. Maybe, as suggested, compose the photo so the pier is more dominant in the photo. |

I love this image. There is so much to look at and the moon and Mt Rainier in the background balance each other nicely. The skyline is very crisp and colorful. Nice job!

I'm sorry to be so late responding to comments but I just got back from a vacation. I appreciate all of them and I think about your suggestions. John, I positioned the tree trunk to be on the right third of the photo, but I might have included more of the tree with a wider angle lens. Theresa, I did mean for the snow-laden branches of the tree to be the subject. Nancie, I agree there are distractions in the photo and I sometimes remove those kinds of things, but in this case the photo wouldn't look real to me if I removed objects since I am so used to seeing this scene. (Hitching post - you were close! lol). Thanks for your comment, Marla - Again, the scene wouldn't look right to me if there were only 3 bushes, even tho it would improve the photo. |

Thanks for your comments. I was going for the feeling of being engulfed in the snow but maybe that didn't come across so well. |
