I love how you put the elements together to create this composition. I like the addition of the moon but I agree that it needs a little more work. You did a nice job with the color tones in the image. I think I might have liked the photo better without the texture. I think there is enough going on with the photo without it - but that is just my personal preference. The image imparts a lovely mood. |

This is a wonderful image! You were fortunate to have the kayaker in a perfect location to enhance the composition and give a sense of scale. I do like the vertical format for this as I agree with Mike that the waterfall on the right is a distraction. I love how you used the slow shutter speed to get a dreamy blur. Nice job! |

Thanks, Nancie! As I love horses, this was a great workshop for me. I hope you are right about a 20x30 canvas as that is what I ordered about a week ago!

Thanks Trinda! The workshop was a one-of-a-kind experience and I loved it. I think you are right about cropping some of the sky. I have already sent the picture to be printed on canvas this way and I'm guessing a non-standard size might have cost more, but if I do any smaller prints, I will crop it some.

Thanks, Theresa. The red bluffs do draw the eye. I loved this location with the horses.

Thanks for your kind remarks, Mike! I have been looking for a photo from this workshop to have printed 20x30 inches. You just helped me make up my mind to print this one.

This is a very calming and serene scene. The layers of colors are nice and the lights along the bridge make a nice accent. I like your use of a long-exposure for this to make the water and sky very smooth.

I love this type of composition where you have something close in the foreground. It makes me feel like I am right there (and I am looking out for snakes!) The framing is perfect for this beautiful scene and the colors and sharpness throughout are very good. |

Your use of 1/2000 shutter speed did a good job of getting these ducks in focus. I like that there is a good separation between the sharp focus of the ducks and foreground and the blurred background. I have nothing to add to improve this nice capture. |

The first thing I noticed about this image is the nice vertical lines leading into the image. I also like the soft tones and subtle colors of the sand and sky. The sandstorm in the distance is a nice discovery as I didn't notice it right at first. I think your choice of a vertical composition increases the feeling of the vastness of this scene. Good job! |
