Thanks Nancie! I had fun doing this. I posted instructions for what I did as a reply to Marla if you want to try this sometime. |

Here is a You Tube video that shows how to make a snowflakes brush in Photoshop: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yP7qiZIuTA0&t=800s. To add snow to the ground and buildings etc, I did the following in Photoshop: 1. Create a new layer. 2. Use a soft white brush to cover an area. 3. Double-click on the layer to display Layer Style screen. 4. Move underlying layer black slider to the right and white slider to the left until the snow looks realistic. I created separate layers for each area - ground, buildings, cars, etc. Hope this helps! |

I like your point of view close to the fence. I could imagine I am leaning on the fence taking in this peaceful scene. I wonder how it would look if you boosted the colors in the sky a little.

This is a very nice composition of this rustic scene. As Mike said, you pulled all the various elements together very well. For my own taste, I would like the textures in the wood of the cabin and fence to be a little more subtle. |

You captured a lovely scene very well here. It would have been a good photo even without the double rainbow but that was a nice bonus. I like the sense of balance in the composition.

I don't mind the brilliant blue sky - Western skies are often like that, aren't they? The colors throughout the photo are vibrant and I think you did the best you could do given the time of day. I agree with Mike that it would add interest to shoot from a low point of view near the bush. |

If I get a good set of instructions for this I will share.
The instructions I had were pretty sketchy.

Thanks Mike! I agree that it isn't a realistic photo. It was fun doing this and I think it will work for a card. I sell photo insert cards at an art fair and I think it might be popular among locals who know the street.

I was wondering about the time of day. You're right - It would have been dimmer earlier if it was still daylight.

The moon seems unexpectedly large to me in comparison to the observatory. I assume you exposed for the moon as you have some nice detail. I think I might have liked a composition when the moon was closer to the horizon and there was less empty space. It is a cool shot, nevertheless!
