71 Oct 17 Comment Thanks for your comments! I was happy to receive an Honors award for this photo, placing it in the top 9% of photos entered in this group of about 15 camera clubs. Oct 31st
71 Oct 17 Reply This is what I love about Photography - It is a process of continual learning - not a destination!

71 Oct 17 Reply Thanks, Nancie! I loved this area. Oct 21st
71 Oct 17 Comment This will be a beautiful calendar picture. I agree with Mike that there is too much of a purple/pinkish tone in it and I think Marla's version is more realistic but still beautiful. Oct 16th
71 Oct 17 Comment This is a gorgeous composition! The sweep of the tree limb echos the shape of the mountain in the distance and nicely frames the objects on the ground. I definitely like the picnickers right where they are in the picture. This reminds me of an old masters painting. Oct 16th
71 Oct 17 Comment I looked up the Ansel Adams image of this and I have to say you are spot-on on the angle and composition. I only found his b&w version so that was what I was comparing your image with. Your color, tones and detail are very good. I wonder if you could have pulled back slightly for a little more of foreground? Did you process this also in B&W? It must have been fun to replicate Adams work and you did a good job of it!

71 Oct 17 Comment Wow!! I love the color and patterns in this image. It almost looks like an abstract. I believe in breaking the "rules" sometimes and I like the position of the boatman right in the center as he is key in breaking the repeating patterns. The photo would still be interesting without the man in the boat, but his presence helps tell us what this scene is about. Oct 16th
71 Oct 17 Comment This is very nice! I feel like I can put myself right in the image. You did an excellent job with merging the exposures to give a realistic appearance. Very good color, detail and tones!

71 Oct 17 Comment Thanks Mike! I did go ahead and enter this in Altered Reality so I'll see how it goes. It depends on the judges, but I once had an image rejected for Photo Realistic because they said it didn't look realistic. And I thought it did!
