Thanks, Marla. This was an easy one - the elevator and foreground were easily selected with the quick selection tool. I don't have the patience for intricate selections! |

I would have loved seeing this scene also. I just wish the cattle and horsemen were larger in the image. |

I like everything about this image - the clouds, rocks, surf! This turned out well especially since you were shooting from a hop-on/hop-off. I agree with cloning out all but the one surfer on the beach.

This is a lovely shot and so improved by your excellent work in Photoshop. I have no suggestions except I might crop a little off the top of the sky to make it a little more of a panorama and to emphasize that beautiful cloud. The road leading into the mountains is perfect - especially since you made the cars disappear.

Ha ha - I have never moved a sun! But anything is possible in Photoshop - right?

This is a fabulous scene and I you did a good job of capturing it. I agree with Trinda that there is a nice flow to the image - and my eyes followed exactly the same way as she described. I like the composition and the contrasts in light and dark areas of the photo. |

I really like this image and the feeling of expansiveness it imparts. The rain cloud is a nice bonus!

I agree about the road. If you have Photoshop, you could probably select the road with the lasso tool, expand the selection one or two pixels, feather one pixel, then do a Fill with content aware. I think on this image the road would disappear nicely and leave the peak you want. Sometime with this technique, you might need to clean up a little with the close tool. Or you could just use the clone tool by itself also.

Thanks for your comments. They have given me a lot to think about. I looked at the original photo and it was taken at 9:39 pm which would have been right around or after sunset. This was in Washington state where the sun sets very late in the summertime. I am attaching the original. Since the sun wasn't shining and the clouds have a cool tone in the composite, I question making the elevator warmer. But I did lighten the elevator and foreground and am attaching another image. |

This is a remarkable scene. I agree with the previous comments that the colors seem a little too saturated to look natural. It also seems like the scene isn't as sharp as it could be (particularly the background mountains) even though you used a small aperture. Were you using a tripod? I like your composition and I think trying the modifications suggested by others will be worthwhile.

Thanks, Mike. Something about this image seems a little "off" to me. Maybe that is it. I'll try lightening the elevator.
