Thanks Trinda. Cuba is wonderful for photography. Travel was also restricted when I went in 2015 and 2016 but I was part of a tour group that had authorizations needed. My first tour was with Colette tours and very ed. The second tour a year later was very relaxed. We could stick to the tour schedule or hire a cab (from the 50's) and go where we wanted. Both were great! |

This is a very nice composition! The mountains look like they are "right there" and there is good clarity throughout. The people add interest to the shot. I like seeing the tops of the mountains even though the sky is gray. You could add more contrast to the mountains but I think it should be subtle. I'm guessing the mountains are further away than they appear so I think they should be a little hazy. |

This photo is exciting to me as I am headed to the Palouse tomorrow for a photo workshop! I hope I can do as well as you did. I understand you used a long lens to compress the undulating hills. I personally don't mind the very bright areas in the photo. I like the dramatic contrast of light and dark and also the various shades of green. I don't mind the strip of brown or think it detracts - just my opinion.

I like this composition a lot but I feel it just needs a little more oomph to make it more interesting. I tried taking the photo into Topaz Adjust to make some subtle changes in tonality, saturation, and detail. |

Stunning image! Very nice work with HDR. It is not at all obvious HDR was used. I like the pop of yellow color at the upper left and the treatment of the water is perfect! I understand the challenge of using a wide angle lens and trying to correct the distortions, but I believe you did the best you could do to get the entire waterfall in a single image.
Congratulations on having an image selected for the Digital Showcase! |

This is a beautiful scene with the beautiful colors and interesting details. I find there are several points of interest but no one place where my eye comes to a rest as the subject of the photo. I believe there could have been a smaller composition in this scene that would emphasize a part of the overall scene and make a stronger photograph. I was most interested in the habitations and horses in the scene. Here is a suggested crop. |

Thanks for the comments. I agree Marla and Hassan that a different perspective could have been more effective.

Thanks for your thoughtful comments. I agree the story I projected on the couple here would have been better if there was something other than the weathered pier to show this was Cuba. I did assume this was a Cuban couple since we stumbled into this non-tourist area and the people around us all seemed to be Cuban. I liked that they were gazing to the North across the Havana Straits toward the US. But you are right - the photo should tell the story without needing a narrative.
