71 Jun 17 Comment If you are interested learning to do composites and other Photoshop trickery, I would recommend Jim Zuckerman's in-home two-day Photoshop workshop. I attended this spring and I feel much more able and inclined to try this kind of thing in Photoshop. Jun 27th
71 Jun 17 Reply Thanks, Nancie. It was great looking out of the roof from the open window and that was the feeling I wanted to convey.

71 Jun 17 Reply I think I prefer the vertical version as I like seeing the tops of the mountains and I think the bush adds to the photo too. I like having something close in a landscape photo that puts you in the scene.

71 Jun 17 Comment It was a bold move to place the fisherman right in the center of the photo and it worked! This is a study in contrasts for me. The large, stationary rocks against the flowing, changing water. And the vulnerable, small man right in the middle on the point of the rocks facing the sea head-on. I like this image a lot! Jun 14th
71 Jun 17 Comment This is beautiful and there are a lot of interesting components in the image. The lighting is gorgeous and you did an excellent job of creating a balanced, pleasing composition. I have no suggestions for improvement.

71 Jun 17 Reply I used Topaz products before Nik became free. I still prefer Topaz to Nik, probably because I know the software better. The Topaz products I use on a regular basis are Adjust, Clarity, Detail, B & W Effects and Denoise. I bought these productions individually over time when there were special deals on them.

71 Jun 17 Comment I like the low and close POV in this images. It makes me imagine I am right there in that setting. I think the colors are very good too. The orange/brown of the cart and ground contrast well with the green vegetation and the deep blue sky with white clouds top it off perfectly. Nice image! Jun 14th
71 Jun 17 Comment This is a nice photo and I like the distinct layers with different colors and textures in the foreground, middle ground, and back ground. With what Marla did with the dehaze slider and increases of clarity and contrast, I feel the sharpness is acceptable. I am wondering why you decided to do a portrait orientation rather than a landscape that would have shown the expanses of the salt flats and mountains? But the portrait orientation does emphasize the differences in the layers. Jun 14th
71 Jun 17 Comment I love the clear turquoise water and the palm tree and I want to be there! I find myself searching the water to find something else - a swimmer, bird, or maybe a boat on the horizon. Have you ever tried composites to add a feature or are you a "purist"? I am more of a purist myself but have tried this a time or two. Jun 14th
71 Jun 17 Comment Thanks for the suggestions Marla. The biggest changes you suggested were the reduction of contrast and clarity and increase of white tones. I played with it a bit and found I liked a version where I did increase white by about 30 points. But I still prefer more clarity than you suggest for a little more punch. But I will watch this in the future as I probably get a little carried away with clarity at times. Thanks for taking time to modify this. Jun 14th
