Looking again, I think the white background is good. Possibly give it a very slight vignette. And Happy New Year. |

Excellent capture, Bob. My brother-in-law Barry Sweet is a pro photographing celebrities in Las Vegas. None of his portraits have the subjects emoting as much as your image of Steve Miller. The monochrome conversion is a good choice. |

I like the red, yellow and blue and the contrasting textures of the wire, peanuts feathers and boca (sp). The unique feeder allowed you to capture the interesting posture of the lower bird and the two possibly looking at each other. Of your many shots, you selected a funny/sweet one. Have no suggestion beyond Bob's on how to remove the white haze. |

Very abstract. I don't do macro and it's hard to tell what this is, tho I do like the colors. |

I agree that the background is very bright. Like all the characters standing there with their outstretched arms. Was the instructor Harold Davis? Check out Lucy Beck's website. She, too, started with Harold and has moved beyond. A member of our club, she did an excellent program for us on creating dark backgrounds, images reminiscent of the Dutch florals. |

Thanks, Howard. That's the height. Difficult to straighten b/c it leans to the right and the guy in front leans to the left. Plus, when I tried to straighten, the building got short, and he got pudgy. |

Thank you, Lee Ann. If you get to Spain, Gaudi's Barcelona is a must. As fascinating as the Sagrada Familia are his houses and a park full of his works. It deserves more time than we had. |

Glad you like the angle of the shot, Jerry. It was, of course, intentional. |

Stuart, I like your clouds. I did, in fact, add clouds to my original but not boldly enough. |

The walking leg incongruently adds whimsy to an otherwise ominous image.
I've never experienced what you have with the clone stamp. If there are different layers involved, I would try flattening or merging them. The black edges on some of the wooden pieces is an interesting effect. Is that the processing style you're trying to copy? |

I love the warmth of the autumn leaves contrasting with the blue sky in your original. Perhaps b/c I'm cold in our house, the monochromelooks to me like a lovely, delicate, but very cold winter scene. |

Love the windswept prairie. For some reason it reminds me of Andrew Wyeth's Christina's World. Good contrast of textures: cloud, building and grass. The stormy sky looks like a creature aiming toward the building. The windblown swing chains add to the mood. Well seen and captured, Stuart. |

Indeed you've captured the decisive moment on an exciting, dynamic event. I agree re lightening his face a bit. |
