Not beautiful and an image most would have overlooked. But It does look like a dance and is well captured. Yes, the brown leaf seems to sadly hug the center. |

Wonderful hight of action capture! Good, crisp detail on both horse and rider. Elegant and powerful. |

Cute formation. I agree with cropping the sky. |

I agree, Lee Ann, with the comments above that you have a strong image of these mysterious, abruptly ending tracks which can be made even stronger. |

Thanks, Howard. I think colors can look brighter on rainy days, but I had already darkened it. Maybe it needs more. Possibly the cloisters are more recent than the main basilica itself. |

Thank you, Lee Ann, for your input. My earlier reply disappeared.
What I wanted to show was that I was standing under shelter across the way, out of rain, so I used the column and the white streaks, rain pouring down off the roof on my right, to frame the image. |

Thank you, Bob. I've done that only once using the only sky I found there. I can explore to look for more. But, as a mater of fact, this sky was white and I darkened it to make it match all the rain in the scene. As in the title, the image is all about the rainy day. I guess I could have looked for some storm clouds for a replacement. I know there's even a way to put my own skies into that program along with the ones provided. |

The white lines are raindrops. There was no blue in that rainy sky. |

I'm glad you incorporated the suggestions above. I prefer both of your uncropped versions to the cropped one. They invite my eye to enter the structure through the door or window. |

A beautiful scene with beautiful, detailed architecture. The very black sky accentuates the sepia-toned architecture. Good range of shades, with detail visible in the dark beyond the colonnades. A site to seek out if we get to Paris again. |

This is reminiscent of a Cartier-Breson overhead view of a cyclist. You captured your rider in a perfect position into the shadow, and his path aligns with the shadow's angles. I like your crop and John's, too. |

A beautiful image with the building and reflection seeming to float among the clouds. I, too, know noting about infrared. I like the final result but prefer the stronger crescent formations more visible in the colored versions' foliage. Could you recapture those in the final? |

I think you're right, Chris about, the rope. Probably not too difficult to eliminate that, but then, of course, it no longer qualifies for Travel. I agree, too, about cropping the half arches.

You're right Don. This is quite limited. When I find images of the doge's palace on line, they stress the beautiful architecture of the entire building. Don't know why I shot just a vertical of this limited area. Next time I'm there I'll do a horizontal and show you more. |
