Well done capture with lovely detailing, Bob! You were able to darken the background without losing any of the edge detail. |

I agree with what's already been said about the soft atmospheric mood, the blue cast, and the three layers of your image. A beautiful capture. Fortunately today's news from AP is that Yellowstone could reopen in two weeks. |

Thank you, Peter. She is distracting, yet her mask is a sign of the times. |

Thanks, Lee Ann. I agree about darkening that lamp (and its table) along with the rest of the room. However, my club's little "salon" group suggests I enter it in competition w/o darkening the background at all. They enjoyed wondering about the two women and liked my husb in the back corner attended by two! waiters. Haven't decided yet how I'll present it. Interested in what the others in our group have to say, as well. Thank you for your input. If you get to NYC, this place is a highlight. |

Yes, pipes. This unusual locale, where I suspect few tourists venture, reminded me that Iceland gets its electricity from geothermal steam. I like your always poetic description of the "newly birthed land" and prefer your cropped version. |

Well composed, taking my eye from front wheel past the block and along the other three. Well processed to get the full tonal range. I like all the texture. My husband, a train buff, knows of that museum and that there are streetcars too. It is now added to our list for our next trip to Chicago, hopefully in October. |

A beautiful basilica, Lee Ann. I agree with Ham (and you) about the abundance of detail. Could you have gotten in front of the objects on either side to just shoot the altar? Getting the top detail then might have required a wider lens than you had or taking several horizontal images and merging them. |

Well done, Peter! The steam from the interesting looking vent adds atmosphere to a beautiful, cold winter scene. Nice detail on the snow. |

Thanks, Ham. I like your modification and will darken the background when I submit this to competition. |

Yes, it sounds like a wonderful vacation! Your vantage point does emphasize the disparity in the sizes of the two vessels. I might have tried retaining the color of the tanker but changed the cruise ship's to monochrome. A very interesting capture. |

A good composition with everything in focus, surprising to me at f5. With so many disparate elements, this could seem too busy. But the person pulls it all together. |

Like the others, I missed the mother, seeing just the playful, cute youngster. If there is detail available on her face, I'd lighten it, otherwise cropping her out as Stuart suggests. |

Brilliant! There are scores of pix of Bell Rock on the web and nary a one in monochrome. Your version lets me look at the contrasting textures of the horizontal sky and vertical lines in the rock formation and the leaves below rather than the usual Sedona red color. Not sure how I'd weigh in on the light grass at the bottom. It both pulls my vision to the bottom and gives your image depth. When was this? Definitely the right time of the day for shadows to sculpt the rock. |

To me, your IR rendition is dark and mysterious, which is appropriate for a cemetery. I like the obelisk against the texture of the leaves but would remove the bit of branch that merges with the tip. |
