37 Feb 22 Comment Lovely result. This looks like a story book illustration. Feb 25th
37 Feb 22 Comment The position of the wings and the falling water are excellent. Nice sharpness and contrast on the right wing's feather detail. I agree that the head could have more sharpness and detail (darkened.) Feb 25th
37 Feb 22 Comment I'm immediately drawn to that eye. I like your capture of his loose skin's varied patterns and colors. Well done! Feb 25th
37 Feb 22 Comment An interesting image. My initial focus, too, is on the textured, diagonal lines of the "kissing" light, so different from the undulating lines of the shore and vertical objects (trees? geological forms?) I think the forms at the upper right distract from the natural scene. I'd like to see it flipped horizontally with a bit of vignette around the upper triangle. Feb 25th
37 Feb 22 Comment A good capture of this solid, stoic beast. The sharpness of the bison with his snowy coat contrasted with the greyed snow- covered background trees makes me feel cold. I agree with cropping from the right. Feb 25th
37 Feb 22 Comment I like the strong play of light and shadow. The bowl with dots in the glass and on the base is interesting. If not changing the background as Ham suggested, I would have at least moved the bowl farther back on the counter to eliminate the bright edge and the floor. I recently did still lives for a class. It's fun to scout for everyday objects in the home and create an arrangement. I hope you'll do more. Feb 21st

64 Feb 22 Comment I would prefer it with the upper cloud cropped out, giving more attention to the mountain. But including the upper cloud makes it appealing in that it's unusual. Feb 26th
64 Feb 22 Comment I prefer your non-green revision and like the subsequent images which tell the story.
Interesting that you were working at a photo shop at fifteen, definitely a head start on this hobby. Wonderful that you have all of those negatives and slides from your youth.

64 Feb 22 Comment Stan, I really like the line of the shore leading through and to the many layers and textures. Sharp throughout with good detail in both darks and whites. Well done! Feb 26th
64 Feb 22 Comment Unusual image, Jerry. Monochrome is better, in my opinion, but I prefer sharply defined shadows so like Original 2 better. I like the tension created by the soft diagonal shadows opposed to the sharp horizontal and vertical lines of the window frame. Feb 26th
64 Feb 22 Comment I agree with John. Feb 26th
64 Feb 22 Comment Of course I saw the words first and was turned off. But after reading the story, I looked at the image a little more. (I know the tragic story but would not have associated the image with it without your explanation.) My eyes moved down to the groups of three silhouettes and lastly to the city scene. It became an interesting image with a lot to see, definitely better with your crop and in monochrome. Feb 26th
